System requirements
The Living Word App runs from its USB drive on a Windows PC or a Mac. Nothing is installed, and no internet connection is needed.
Windows
- Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
- Not Windows in S mode, which only runs apps from the Microsoft Store.
- Not with Smart App Control turned on. Smart App Control is a Windows 11 setting that blocks apps from outside the Microsoft Store unless they carry a publisher’s digital signature. Most computers have it off. To check, open Windows Security → App & browser control → Smart App Control.
Mac
- macOS 12 Monterey or later.
Both
- A USB-A port, the standard rectangular one. If your computer has only USB-C ports, use a USB-C to USB-A adapter.
Not supported
Chromebooks, iPads, tablets and phones.
The first time you open it
The first launch on each computer takes longer while the computer checks the app; after that it opens in a few seconds. Your computer may also ask you to confirm you want to open an app from a USB drive. The user manual walks you through it.
